The Seven Oaks Vineyards

Our vineyard at Seven Oaks is ideally situated near the western border of our property, on rolling hills between 700 and 800 ft. elevation.  Elevation drops dramatically on three of the four vineyard borders, facilitating ample airflow and protection from frost.  We have 7 acres of matured vines planted to Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Viognier, the signature grape of Virginia.    Our future plans include the construction of an onsite winery and tasting room where visitors will be able to enjoy our wines surrounded by the beauty of the estate.
Our sister vineyard in Essex County, VA is located in a unique climate close to Chesapeake Bay and has produced several award-winning wines in Northern Virginia.  This larger vineyard has 26 planted acres of wine grapes including traditional Bordeaux varieties and Viognier, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris.
Although Thomas Jefferson never succeeded in producing a single bottle of wine, viticulture in Virginia is alive and well today!  Virginia is currently the fifth largest wine grape-producing state in the US and its wines are quickly gaining national recognition.
